In cooperation with the GLU network the ILO will undertake a comparative study on policies and experiences of trade unions in different countries designed to improve the representation of workers in small enterprises. The focus will be on the institutional and legal conditions that ensure access to rights for workers in these enterprises and on different practical approaches taken by trade unions to organize in these enterprises, within the formal and informal economy. The case studies will be discussed at a joint workshop designed to identify successful policies and organizing strategies for representing workers in small enterprises.
